Interesting news in the dental world… According to the Federal Trade Commission, Henry Schein Practice Solutions Inc., one of the leading dental office management providers, deceptively claimed that its Dentric G5 software provided industry-standard encryption of sensitive patient information. The FTC has notified Henry Schein that their data protection was “less secure and more vulnerable” than the industry-standard, leaving dental providers open to breach of secure patient data and failing to meet HIPAA regulations.
