They are at it again…

Beware of a scam by mail to get owners of companies to pay for the preparation of annual minutes when, for example, limited liability companies are not required to have annual minutes under Ohio law. This scam makes it appear that the company owner should engage the scammer in order to be in compliance with Ohio law. Information about the company is requested to be sent to an undisclosed recipient. Similar mailing scams already exist in Ohio for ordering a copy of the deed to your home for a significant cost when it is available on the recorder website for no charge.

Your attorney can advise you about what is required under Ohio law and what is not, depending on the type of company that you own.
